If I were to ask you what the most important decision you will ever make is, what would you say? Who I’m going to marry? Maybe, what I will do for a job? Or perhaps even, where will I live? While those are some important decisions, it is definitely not the most important. What would you say if I asked, “Where are you going to spend eternity?” There are usually three responses that people give to this question. I don’t know, I don’t care, and Heaven. Where do you fall in this? Regardless of your answer I’d like to take a moment to explain to you how you can make absolutely sure of where you are going when you die.

The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

How do you get this eternal life that the Apostle John speaks of? We here at Westside Baptist Temple believe that Jesus is the way. I know it can be confusing and you have questions, but the Bible gives us the answer. How can you know, for sure, that you are going to spend eternity in Heaven when you die? I’m glad you asked. You don’t have to be a Bible scholar. The life you have lived before now, no matter how bad, doesn’t disqualify you. Simply reflect on the four following statements.

Admit you are a lost sinner.

“For all have sinned and have come short of the Glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

Realize the punishment for remaining a lost sinner is eternity in hell.

“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

“And in Hell he lift up his eyes being in torments…” – Luke 16:23

Believe God’s payment for your sin was Christ’s death on the cross.

“But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Realize that accepting Jesus as your Savior is the only way to a home in Heaven.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” – John 14:6

If you believe all four previous statements, you can have everlasting life in Heaven with Jesus by doing the following:

“…confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” – Romans 10:9

“For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. ” – Romans 10:13

If you will be saved today, please pray this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins, please be my Savior and come into my heart and save me for I believe you died on the Cross for me. In Jesus’ name I ask this, Amen.”

If you did this and meant it, please let us know that you were saved as we want to rejoice with you.
